Bwin Announces Increase In Net Gaming Revenues

The Austrian online gambling conglomerate, Bwin, posted a relatively small increase of 2.3% in its net gaming revenue. Bwin’s net gaming revenue for 2009 was reported as €373 million.
Bwin reported that their gross gaming revenues were €446.6 million, up 6.1% from last year. When excluding their takeover of the Italian gambling group, Gioco Digitale, the number is approximately €432.7 million.
Bwin’s sports betting group saw gross gaming revenues of €226.3 million, a decrease of 3.8%. Bwin points to an exceptionally successful 2008 due to the action from the UEFA football championship as the reason behind the recorded loss.
Bwin’s poker enterprise performed exceptionally well with gross revenues of €118.8 million, a 26.1% increase over 2008. The gross revenues of the Bwin’s internet casino experienced moderate growth reporting €73.7 million for a 5.4% increase. Bwin’s games saw very high growth, reporting €27.8 million in gross revenues for a 30.7% increase over the previous year.
