PokerStars Calls All Russian Speakers To The New Russian Poker Series

The Russian Poker Series (RPS) is a brand new poker tour from PokerStars that is tailor made for Russian speakers with events in some incredible locations. The inaugural event was held at the incredible Khreschatic Poker Club in Kiev, Ukraine. Other events in the series will take place in Riga, Latvia and at the beautiful Red Sea resort town of Sharm El Sheihk in the Sinai Peninsula. These incredible locations are sure to make this inaugural RPS one to remember.

Participants in this season of the RPS are playing for more than just big cash prize. PokerStars will be maintaining a Russian Poker Series Leaderboard. The lucky player that scores the most combined points from all of the RPS events will receive an incredible one year sponsorship package from PokerStars.

The Season 1 Russian Poker Series event schedule is as follows:



RPS Kiev
The inaugural event of the RPS was a tremendous success with 258 players congregating at the Khreschatic Poker Club for the RPS Kiev Main Event to create the $688,215 prizepool. Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov had a good run finishing in 16th place. In the end, the Russian Kirill Telezkin claimed the title and the $171,000 first place prize.

PokerStars is currently running satellite qualifiers for RPS Riga. RPS Riga prize packages include the $2,750+$250 RPS Riga Main Event buy-in, accommodations and spending money.
