Jason Alexander And Jennifer Tilly To Play In National Head-Up Poker Championship
Saturday, 13. February 2010

There are unconfirmed reports that “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander and actress Jennifer Tilly are slated to play in the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship to be broadcasted on NBC. Representatives of Poker PROductions have yet to release an official cast list.

On UB.com’s February 3rd broadcast of their poker news show Poker2Nite, Alexander announced that he will be taking part in the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Alexander participated in the 2008 championship and fell to Huck Seed in the first round.

This year will be Tilly’s fifth appearance in the National heads-Up Poker Championship, competing in each one since 2006. Unfortunately, Tilly has yet to make it out of the first round. Tilly faced off against the World Poker Tour (WPT) champion, Paul Phillips, in the first round four years ago and fell short.

The opening round of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship 2007 saw Tilly paired up with the then reigning World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Jamie Gold. Gold defeated Tilly in the first round but eventually fell to Team Full Tilt’s Phil Gordon in the round of 32. Tilly fell to female pro Clonie Gowen in 2008. Gowen went on to lose in the second round of matches against Michael “the Grinder” Mizrachi.

Last year, Tilly played against 2009 WSOP Main Event November Nine finisher Phil Ivey in the first round. Ivey defeated Tilly but ended up falling to Team PokerStars Pro member Vanessa Rousso. Rousso had a great run defeating other opponents including Doyle Brunson, Paul Wasicka and Daniel Negreanu to reach the final table against the eventual champion, Huck Seed. With a record of 18-4, Seed has the best record in National Heads-Up Poker Championship history.
