Kidney Foundation Charity Event To Be Hosted By Jennifer Harman
Thursday, 29. April 2010

Jennifer Harman is proving to be one of the more charitably oriented poker professional on the circuit these days. A handful of weeks after having hosted a charity event for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals, Harman, in association with the Peppermill Resort Casino, is scheduled to host the Throw Down Poker Championship, a tournament that benefits The National Kidney Foundation, on May 8th in Reno.

Jennifer Harman has suffered from kidney troubles throughout her life and is the recipient of two kidney transplants herself. The National Kidney Foundation is a charity very close to Harman’s heart. The 2010 Throw Down Poker Championship will be made up of teams of 10 players. Each team will have a buy in of $2,500 and all of the proceeds of the tournament will go to the National Kidney Foundation.

Players participating in the Throw Down Poker Championship earn points towards their team depending upon where they finish in the tournament. Teams compete for team prize packages including trophies, medals and advertising opportunities. Team buy ins include the buy in, custom branded jackets for each participant, exclusive VIP party, official team photos and a complementary gift basket from the National Kidney Foundation.

In addition to team competition, the Throw Down Poker Championship will also host individual entrants and award individual prizes. The buy in for an individual is $230 and the individual prizes include a $10,000 seat to the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the overall individual winner. The top ten individual finishers in the tournament will receive seats to the Nevada State Championship Main Event scheduled for May 9th.

Among the players participating in this year’s Throw Down Poker Championship are Antonio Esfandiari, Hoyt Corkins, Howard Lederer, Karina Jett, Paul Wasicka, David Williams.
