UBOC 2010 Ends Over The Weekend

Dave “DoubleDave22” D’Alesandro took first in the $1,050 buy-in main event of the twelve day 2010 Ultimate Bet Online Championship over the weekend claiming the $279,044 prize.

Professional Poker player Phil Hellmuth hosted the no limit Texas Hold’em final. 1,307 players joined Hellmuth to create a £1.307 Million prize pool, the largest in Ultimate Poker’s ten year history.

The main event of UBOC 2010 began at 4:00 PM EST on January 31st and saw D’Alesandro taking down runner-up Lauren “SuperModl” Kling with a full house well into the wee hours of the following morning. Heads up play between the two went a total of 30 hands and Kling earned herself $163,244 for finishing in second place.

Ultimate Bet announced that a total of 135 players finished in the money in the main event including third place Brett “BS0228” Switzer who claimed the third place prize of $115,016 and fourth place Sean “WaWa711” Rice who earned himself $83,647.

Of the Team UB players participating in the main event, Michael Binger had the best showing finishing in fifth and taking the $69,924 purse. Jeff “JeffBeesDat” Gray took down Hellmuth and claimed the $500 bounty on Hellmuth’s virtual head. Gray’s quad kings sent the eleven time World Series Of Poker bracelet holder to the rails in 314th position before he himself was knocked out in 61st place to take home $3,267.

Just over 10,000 players participated in the 18 guaranteed events of this year’s UBOC and competed for a total prize pool of just over $5.3 million.
