The 2010 WSOP Schedule Leaked And Feature Eight $1K Events
Saturday, 21. November 2009

It would appear that a preliminary schedule of the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) may have been leaked on the online poker forums, PocketFives.com and TwoPlusTwo.com. All links to the schedule have since been removed.

According to the leak, a grand total of 57 events are on tap for the 2010 WSOP at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The “Stimulus Special” open $1K buy-in event was introduced in the 2009 WSOP. The schedule leaked this week includes six open $1,000 events which brings the total to eight when taking into consideration the Ladies’ and Seniors’ Championship.

Conspicuously missing from the leaked schedule is the $50,000 buy-in HORSE Championship which is rumored to come with a $10,000 buy-in in 2010. Last year, the $50,000 buy-in HORSE Championship saw a field of 95 players with David Bach claiming victory. In the place of the $50,000 buy-in HORSE Championship, the leaked 2010 schedule features a yet to be described $50,000 buy-in event titled The Player’s World Championship.

A high-stakes six-handed tournament may be in the line-up for this year’s WSOP following a trend established in events such as the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). Slated for June 30th is the $25,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event which may succeed in producing one of the most competitive fields of all times.
