Tyron Krost Claims Victory At The 2010 Aussie Millions
Saturday, 30. January 2010

23 year old Australian Tyron Krost claims victory at the 2010 Aussie Millions main event and the Aussie Millions Main Event trophy remains in Australia for the second straight year.

746 players from around the world descended on the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia this week to compete in the largest poker tournament in the Southern Hemisphere. It took a full seven days of play to whittle the field down and establish the poker world’s newest millionaire.

Krost began the second day with a heavy chip disadvantage to Sorel Mizzi. Once Krost broke Mizzi’s stranglehold over the final table and gained the chip lead, he never looked back and went on to steamroll through the table until he was the last man standing. Tyron Krost takes home the championship purse of $2,000,000 AUD.

Krost’s victory was a surprise to many as Mizzi was forecasted to dominate the final table with his monstrous chip advantage and rich tournament experience. Things just didn’t seem to work in his favor and Mizzi walked away from the final table in 3rd place with $715,000 AUD in prize money.
