The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure To Include Charity Event For AIDS Research
Wednesday, 9. December 2009
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is to include a charity event in honor of the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR), a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 that has helped finance over 2,000 research teams around the world to the tune of $290 million dollars.
The amfAR Charity Event will have a $5,250 buy-in with half of the prize pool going to the charity. The event has attracted a number of celebrities and athletes including Boris Becker, Mats Sundin and various members of Team PokerStars Pro.
If the $5,250 buy-in seems a little rich for your blood, then PokerStars is running a $5.50 satellite event on Dec. 13 at 16:00 EST. The top two finishers will receive a prize package that includes flight, entry fee and three nights at the Atlantis Hotel.
