Thursday, 27. October 2011

It was reported yesterday that professional poker player Al Krux, along with his son Adam Krux, was on felony marijuana charges. Krux, who has succeeded in making the final table of the WSOP Main Event on three occasions, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after having been discovered with 40 pounds of marijuana in addition to 90 marijuana plants at his home in DeWitt, NY.

Acting on tips regarding suspicious activity at both of Krux’s residences, search warrants were issued on both homes. Police stopped Krux and found 25 pounds of marijuana in his car. His son, stopped in a different car, was found holding 15 pounds of marijuana. Both of the men are being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $20k bail.

Krux has accumulated well over $1 million in total live tournament winnings over the course of his career. He has succeeded in making it to the final table of the WSOP Main Event an unbelievable 3 times over the years, most recently back in 2004 when he finished 6th and walked away with $800,000. In addition, Krux won a WSOP bracelet in 1996 awarding him $156,375. It would appear that Mr. Krux could have found himself a more stable industry to channel his investments.
