The SIGA Poker Championship Added To The Canadian Poker Tour
Monday, 1. August 2011

HeadsUp International announced the addition of the new Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) Championship to the Canadian Poker Tour this October. The event is slated to be held at the Dakota Dunes Casino located just outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on the 1st and 2nd of October. The SIGA Championship is co-sponsored by HeadsUp International, the company that produces the Canadian Poker Tour; the Canadian Poker Player Television Network; Canadian Poker Player Magazine and SIGA.

The SIGA Poker Championship will be a No Limit Texas Hold’em event with a buy-in of $500. Satellite tournaments are currently being held at all six of the First Nations casinos: the Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert, the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford, the Bear Claw Casino in the Moose Mountain National Park, the Painted Hand Casino in Yokton and the Living Sky Casino in Swift Current.

Canadian poker has seen a great rise in popularity since the Canadian Jonathon Duhamel won the World Series of Poker Main Event last year. Hopefully the addition of new stop on the Canadian Poker Tour will contribute to Canada’s enthusiasm for poker.
